Scott has focused his practice of law in the area of medical malpractice defense and has successfully defended medical care providers, nursing homes and hospitals in the superior, supreme and federal courts as well as before the Rhode Island Department of Health. Scott has also focused his practice in the area of land use law, having successfully tried cases involving easement disputes in the superior court and successfully litigated appeals before the State Housing Appeals Board. He served as Solicitor to the Planning Board for the Town of Hopkinton from 2007 to 2015, and as Solicitor, prosecuted criminal offenses through trial in the district court and represented the Town of Hopkinton in tax appeals filed in the superior court. He is currently the Solicitor to the Planning Board in both Smithfield and Westerly. Scott has defended attorneys in negligence actions brought against them and has litigated matters involving product defects, personal injury cases involving slip and falls and automobile accidents. He also successfully tried claims involving theft of electrical services on behalf of Narragansett Electric.
