Patricia concentrates her practice in civil litigation involving insurance defense and coverage matters as well as construction and surety work, title insurance and lender liability claims. She also maintains an appellate practice in these areas that includes appearances before the Rhode Island Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In the area of municipal law, she served as the Town Solicitor for the Town of Hopkinton, Rhode Island from 2007 to 2016 having also previously held this position from 1987-1990 and was the Town Solicitor in Smithfield, Rhode Island from 2017 to 2018. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to every matter she handles whether it involves trial work, arbitration or mediation and represents clients in all venues including state and federal courts, before state and municipal boards and commissions and before various regulatory bodies. Patricia is admitted to the Rhode Island, U.S. District Court of Rhode Island, US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the U.S. Claims Court bars. She graduated magna cum laude from Providence College and received her law degree from Boston University. She served as Chief Law Clerk to the Rhode Island State Trial Judges Law Clerk Pool (1983-1982), Law Clerk for Rhode Island Supreme Court, Senior Associate Justice Thomas F. Kelleher (1984-1985) and was a Staff Attorney and legal counsel for the Local Government Committee of the Rhode Island Constitutional Convention (1986). She has also served as a member of the Rhode Island Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness of the Bar (1988-1995) and the Rhode Island Supreme Court Committee on Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (1994-2004).
